Spring break is awesome, although it has gone very very fast. I did not do much of anything exciting over my spring break other than work 45 hours. I guess one would label me a workaholic. I did get to spend more time with friends and family compared to when I am at school putting in the time. This picture right here describes me and my view towards working during my "spring break". I am very happy to make more money (guy on left), disgusted that I have to spend my spring break doing that (middle), and sad and dumbfounded that spring break is almost over (right). I did go out a couple nights during the week and drank with a few buddies of mine. I also spent time with a lady i have been seeing and so far so good! Although many students probably had vacations book months ago for this time we call spring break, I was modest and happy just to make more money and not have to stress about school and all the hw and studying that goes into it (i am taking 18 credits this semester, yes).

It is pretty impressive that you have been able to work that much and complete 18 credits this semester. From personal experience, I know it can be difficult balancing work and school, but it must be really demanding to work that much and keep up with homework. You probably could have used a break from all of that.
ReplyDeleteI really like that you included pictures with your blog, especially of the workaholics picture. I also find myself to be a workaholic so I can completely relate to that. By your second picture, it looks like that you did get a chance to have some fun. But its important to not work constantly or you will be completely burned out. In about 5 weeks, we will be completely done with homework, but not done with the work part.
I love the picture you chose to describe your different moods towards spring break. What a unique choice and it really popped and made me understand how you were feeling. I am glad that you got to hang out with friends and family and the lady! Most everyone's break was not really a "break", but rather filled with work, but when you get to spend time with people you care about I think that makes everything better :)
ReplyDeleteI love the picture you have with this! 18 credits sucks for sure I have had 18 every semester but my first one in college. I miss 15 credits so badly! I didn't do much either but getting to see my freinds which was nice
ReplyDeleteOther than work, sounds like you had an enjoyable break! I too like to make the extra money during break but I took some time off to just hang out with family and friends as well. Glad you got some time to do the same! I love the picture you included, I am definitly a workaholic too!
ReplyDeleteHaaa yes, a reference to Workaholics. And just until recently, I thought 18 credits were the accepted norm. I am crazy.
ReplyDeleteI was also a workaholic until recently, but being unemployed gives me a lot more free time. I know many of us don't have a choice in the matter and being self-sufficient is such a good feeling, but my parents have been considerate enough to tell me that my sole focus should be school. So, that's what I'm trying to embrace right now.
No income + school = where is my money going? I need to party to release all this STRESS that is schoolwork, personal issues, and zero dollars is going to help me do that... how?
Sigh, this is such a complex time for all of us. Figuring ourselves out, figuring our futures out, and trying to live in the moment tend to overwhelm sometimes. I'm just trying to not get in over my head. With a year left, I'm just trying to find my focus and get this shit over with!
